Safety
Reesmans Excavating & Grading Inc. believes the safety of our workers is priority #1. This is illustrated by our Written Programs/Procedures, Involvement with ABC and WUCA, and our results in the area of Safety. Safety training and involvement is an investment we make which returns dividends for our employees, and our customers.
JR Reesman has served on the ABC Wisconsin Safety Committee from 2003 to the present. This includes acting as the Chair of the Committee for 2006. We also participated to renew the Partnership Agreement between Wisconsin OSHA, WISCON, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin (ABC).
All of our employees have had the following training programs:
- Annual Red Cross CPR and First Aid
- 10 Hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course in Construction Safety & Health
- Competent Person Training for Excavation
- 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker
- Mine Safety and Health Administration Miner Training
- Confined Space Training
We have a very low Workmans Compensation Experience Modification Rate. Currently our experience is 30% better than the industry average.

- 2007 Achieved Gold Level in the STEP Program (ABC National Safety Training and Evaluation Process)
- 2007 Gold Safety Award of Honor-(for Lost workday Cases and OSHA Recordables better than the industry average)
- 2006 Platinum Award of Honor (for zero recordable accidents)
- 2005 Safety Award of Merit
We were also recognized by the Wisconsin Underground Contractors Association with a 2007 Safety Award for Outstanding Safety Performance 100-200,000 Man Hours. |
